王西京，1946年生于陕西西安，现任中国美术家协会理事、陕西省文联副主席、陕西省美术家协会主席、陕西省政协常委、西安中国画院院长、西安美术家协会主席，兼任中国艺术研究院教授、西北大学、云南大学、西安美术学院教授，第九届、第十届全国人大代表，一级美术师，被国务院授予为“国家级有突出贡献专家”，荣获“中国时代先锋人物”、“第四届中国改革十大最具影响力新锐人物”“陕西省红旗人物”、“陕西省行业领军人物”、“陕西省优秀共产党专家”、“劳动模范”等光荣称号。
　　Wang Xijing, born in 1946 in Xi’an, Shaanxi, currently is a member of China Artists Association, vice-president of Shaanxi Federation of Literary and Art Circles, president of Shaanxi Artists Association, member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC Shaanxi Provincial Committee, president of Xi’an Chinese Painting Academy, president of Xi’an Artists Association, and concurrently professor with China Art Academy, professor with Northwest University, Yunnan University and Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts, and deputy to the Ninth and Tenth National People’s congresses. In addition, he has been conferred as a first-grade artist, “National Level Expert with Outstanding Contributions” by the State Council, “Pioneer of the Times”, “The Fourth Top Ten Most Influential New Figures in the China’s Reform”, “Shaanxi Red Flag Figure”, “Shaanxi Guild Leader”, “Shaanxi Excellent Party Member and Expert”, “Model Worker” and many other honorary titles.
　　四十多年来，他曾在国内外报刊、杂志发表作品五千余幅，先后出版作品集、论文集等60余种。
　　Over the past four decades, he has published over 5,000 paintings in newspapers and periodicals and journals and more than 60 painting albums and thesis collections.
　　曾先后在新加坡、马来西亚、日本、英国、法国、泰国、韩国及香港、台湾、澳门、深圳、大连、北京、广州、郑州、合肥等国家和地区及城市成功地举办画展三十多次，被新加坡南洋美术学院、马来西亚艺术学院、泰国东方书院聘为客座教授。
　　He has successfully held more than 30 art exhibitions successively in Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, UK, France, Thailand, South Korea, and Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macao, Shenzhen, Dalian, Beijing, Guangzhou, Zhengzhou, Hefei, as well as other countries and regions or cities. He is invited by Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore, Malaysian Institute of Art and School of Oriental Culture Academy in Thailand as a guest professor.
　　2000年荣获日本政府“国际阿卡得密奖”和“教育文化勋章”；2002年荣获汉城国际书画大展“国际贡献奖”；2003 年获日、中、韩“国际美术节大展”金奖；2002年获“中华人民共和国奥林匹克运动”特奥金质奖；2003年获“中国北京国际美术节”特等奖；2005年获“法国国际美术沙龙展特别奖”等数十项大奖。是我国在海内外享有盛誉的艺术家。
　　He won the “International Akademi Award” and “Education Culture Medal” awarded by the Japanese government in 2000, the “International Contributions Award” in Seoul International Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition in 2002, the Gold Award of the “International Fine Arts Festival Exhibition” jointly held by Japan, China and South Korea in 2003, the Special Olympic Gold Award of “The Olympic Games of the PRC” in 2002, the Special Award of “The First Beijing (China) International Art Biennale” in 2003, the “Special Award of the French International Fine Arts Saloon Exhibition” in 2005 and many other awards, which make him an artist enjoying great reputation overseas.
