A Farewell Song is a poem written by Wang Wei when he sent his friend to the frontier in northwest China before the Anshi Rebellion. The poem was composed in the form of a seven-character quatrain, and describes the poet’s farewell to his friend Yuan Er at the guesthouse in Wei City.
